History
The Tsuru Gallery, celebrating its 22nd anniversary, specializes in fine quality Japanese woodblock prints. The Gallery provides fine prints to major museums and important private collections throughout the world. The name Tsuru, which translates as "crane," was suggested by a Japanese friend. It is the symbol of the Imperial family, of longevity and of good luck. From 1979 - 1992 the Gallery was open to the public from prestigious Manhattan locations. After a 10 year hiatus, during which Tsuru Gallery served its select clients as private dealer the gallery re-opened in Newport, Rhode Island, USA. Currently on display at the gallery is Yoshitoshi's, 100 Views of the Moon. Tsuru Gallery is now available online at www.tsurugallery.com. |
